October 28–31 is Red Ribbon Week, a time to promote awareness about the importance of staying drug-free. Show your school spirit and commitment to healthy, drug-free living by participating in the daily dress-up themes listed on the flyer!

The Sophomore class attended the Lebanon Technical Jamboree on Wednesday, October 22nd!
Students from Niangua, and other surrounding schools, had the opportunity to explore hands-on career learning. They also visited with current students who showcased projects and what they’re learning in programs designed to provide real-world experience in areas that match their individual interests and future goals.

Fall sports are wrapping up! Come out and cheer on our high school volleyball and cross country teams as they head into postseason play. Remember — it’s not about how you start, but how you finish.

Outstanding finish to the Middle School Basketball season. Congratulations to the Lady Cardinals for a 1st place Championship finish in the Mark Twain Conference with a win over Chadwick on Thursday. Congratulations to the Cardinals for a 3rd place finish tonight over Hurley. And thanks to the cheerleaders for supporting them at every game this season. Great job players AND coaches.

Please join on Friday, October 24th from 5:00-7:00 pm for the school Carnival in our high school small gym! Ticket prices can be found below. We will also have other options taking cash such as the Haunted House ($5), a silent auction for the elementary special education department, and a Chili Supper in the Ag Building ($3 per bowl, $3 per drink, or $5 for both).

Please join us on Friday, October 24th from 5-7 pm. Tickets can be bought at the door for $0.50 a piece. Keep an eye out for a chart with all of the activities and their prices later this week!

Please join us on November 11th for our Veterans Day program, The Courage to Stand, at 2 pm in Niangua's large gym. Mrs. Callaway's media class will be putting together a slideshow of veterans/active military family members of our students or faculty members. If you have a family member who was veteran or is currently serving, please send pictures with name and relationship to student/faculty member to jcallaway@nianguaschools.com.

The Scholastic Book Fair opens on Monday, October 13th for parent teacher conferences! The fair will run until October 24th, and will be open for the Fall Carnival. All proceeds from the Book Fair are used to support the library. Both cash and card are accepted as payment forms.

There will be an important Senior Meeting on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Boardroom.

This meeting is for students who plan to attend college or a trade school after graduation. Topics will include: College and trade school applications, FAFSA and financial aid information, Scholarships and funding opportunities.

We wanted to give a transportation update for Sept. 30th Athletics.

Tonight the Middle School girls basketball will be transported by Charity Stuber and Melissa Phillips to the basketball contest at NCA. The girls will be leaving at 3:45 with Girls A game beginning at 5:30. 1 quarter of Girls B after the A game.

Middle school boys basketball and cheer will leave at 4:50 when Beth returns from her route. They will play Boys A after the girls B and will finish the night with 1 quarter of Boys B action.

High School volleyball will leave for Seymour at 4:50 when Amber returns from her route. Varsity plays at 6pm with JV after.

Exciting News!
The Niangua Cardinals are proud to be participating in Special Olympics this year! The program now supports ALL abilities and features Unified Teams, bringing together both regular education and SPED students.

This fall, our athletes will compete in bowling in November, and in the spring we’ll hit the track. We’re thrilled for this new opportunity and can’t wait to cheer on our Cardinals as they show their skills, teamwork, and school spirit!
