Good morning Niangua Community!
At the July 25th Board of Education meeting, policy BDDH-1 regarding Public Comment was revised per the recommendation of MSBA (Missouri State Boards’ Association).
The main difference is that any Niangua resident can request to have an agenda item placed on the Board agenda. That person must first meet with Dr. Baker in order to have the item placed on the agenda. If the item is already on the agenda, the resident does not need to visit with Dr. Baker prior to the board meeting. Patron Comment has been moved to the beginning of the Board meeting to allow the Board to discuss the agenda item, including information mentioned during Patron Comment.
Residents are still permitted to speak during the Patron Comment period. However, all comments and statements must be about an agenda item posted and approved for that specific Board Meeting.
The Niangua Board of Education has approved a 30 minute limit for Patron Comment. Residents who wish to speak will receive 3 minutes to speak on Board approved agenda items. The Board President has the authority to extend the 3 minute time limit at his discretion.
The entire policy has been linked to this announcement.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Respectfully,
Dr. Baker
